When it comes to hair color, it is best to leave it to the experts. You might have spent countless hours on the gram trying to find the right color for your hair, but we can assure you it’s not that simple. There are a number of things to consider before deciding on a hair color, which is why it is important to trust the experts. âWhether you are passionate about hair coloring or are considering it for the first time, you have a lot to think about if you plan to color your hair for the big day,â says Madhvi Lodhi, top stylist, Jean Claude Biguine. Make an appointment with a professional colourist and hair expert for a proper consultation. âTake the benchmarks from what you have in mind and ask the expert to help you choose a shade that suits your skin tone, eye color and personality. Remember that a well-executed dye job can improve the bride’s hairstyle, âshe notes.

We understand that you are busy with others chaadi related things, but make sure you get your hair dyed well in advance. âYou need to color your hair two weeks in advance because it takes a while to set in,â warns Nelson Rymah, senior stylist, Brushes & Strokes. However, if this is your first time getting your hair dyed, be sure to schedule your planning appointments before too. âVisit the stylist well in advance to make sure you get the right color for your big day,â Rymah adds.

When selecting hair colors, it would be good to remember not to go for something too strong. âThe colors that suit Indian skin are mostly shades of brown. Brown highlights, French brown color balayage or Persian chocolates are all in fashion right now. Caramel and honey tones also look great on Indian skin tones, âsays Rymah.

If you thought that getting hair color was maintenance free, think again. âMaintaining your hair after coloring it is crucial to get the most out of it.
