A night to remember

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who tied the knot in a Christian ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur on Saturday, took to Instagram to share photos of their sangeet ceremony. It was a night of love and laughter as the couples’ families and friends laughed the night away.

The 36-year-old actress wrote on Instagram: “Nick and I were eagerly awaiting the sangeet (musical evening), another pre-wedding ritual … and see what everyone had concocted. And what a performance it was. ”

The two families told the couple’s love story through songs and dances.

Love is in the air

For the sangeet ceremony, Priyanka Chopra channeled it desi girl look in a sari paired with a sparkly blouse and a diamond scarf. Nick Jonas completed it in a midnight blue kurta.

Nick Jonas took out his Bollywood avatar as he strolled with family and friends on what feels like an epic night out.

The Ambanis, who reached Jodhpur on Saturday just before the sangeet ceremony, were seen seated in the front row with Chopra and her mother. Nita Ambani opted for an ivory lehenga with a leheria dupatta, while the president of Reliance Industries was dressed in a bandhgala.

Of love and laughter

Designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the setting for the function included string lights and mirror installations that illuminated the grounds of Umaid Bhawan. The designer duo described the installation as an “enchanted wonderland”.

Photographs by photographer Joseph Radhik showed the stars and their friends celebrating.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s intimate wedding at Lake Como was exactly what bridal dreams are made of. Organized over a period of three days, attended only by family and close friends, the festivities began with a mehendi function, followed by the couple taking their vows in two separate ceremonies – a konkani and a sindhi – over the next two days in respect for their lineage.

Photos from their wedding, which have gone viral, show the actors of “Padmaavat” looking so much in love and doing well in the bridal fashion game.

Perfect picture

Deepika Padukone looked like a dream in a blush pink Chinkaari kurta surrounded by pink roses with Lake Como in the background for her traditional mehendi ceremony. She completed the look with a dark red shawl and jewelry that included a maharani haar. The ‘Piku’ actress opted for nude makeup with a petite bindi.

Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee who dressed the actress for the function described her as “very traditional Indian mehendi – from clothes to divine music to absolutely spectacular food”. He added that while the weather conditions were far from ideal with two days of rain just before, the sun came out on mehendi day.

The gaze of love

Ranveer Singh was a picture of happiness as he danced during the mehendi ceremony. The dapper actor opted for an angarkha and brown print jacket from designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. He completed the look with vintage sunglasses.

Fit for a frame

The actors’ mothers, Ujjala Padukone and Anju Bhavnani, and sisters, Anisha and Ritika, were all dressed in outfits by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The photo of their couple with the women in their life is perfect for a wedding campaign.

Man and woman

For Konkani’s wedding ceremony, Deepika wore a pure gold zari Kanjivaram brocade silk sari donated by her mother Ujjala Padukone. According to tradition, the bride wears an outfit purchased by the mother.

Apparently, the actress and her mother chose the red saree with Gandaberunda (a two-headed bird) designs from the Angadi Galleria in Bengaluru. It was designed for the ceremony by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee who added a Kanjeevaram fabric veil and completed the look with traditional jewelry.

Padukone opted for dark kohl-edged eyes and nude lips, and sported a floral updo with layers of gajra.
