The National Park Service approved a permit late Monday night for a right-wing protest that was scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. Tuesday noon before President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, according to documents reviewed by The Daily Beast .

In the permit application – first filed on February 18 for the “Stage of Freedom” event with the National Park Service and later obtained by The Daily Beast – Kyle Sefcik, the rally organizer, announced that more of 3,000 people could “hopefully” attend the event.

However, the park permit now issued has since revised down the initial forecast of 3,000 attendees, with the number now below 500 attendees who will congregate in addition to the Washington Monument at the Sylvan Theater.

“The licensee has amended its application to reduce the maximum anticipated crowd size to less than 500 attendees,” the approved and amended permit now reads.

Regarding the activities on the agenda, the organizer indicated on the permit that the participants of the eight-hour rally will participate in a “Peaceful Demonstration/Assembly!” Christian Music/Speakers for Mandates. Convoy support in Canada. Mandates to be lifted in DC/USA.

Moreover, on the original request, Sefcik took the unusual route of answering questions on the government form with his own questions in extremely messy handwriting.

To one of the questions on the app about what tasks volunteers could do, the organizer replied, “Do we need them? »

As for answering questions with more questions, Sefcik told The Daily Beast on Monday night that he didn’t see the problem. “Yeah, I wanted to see if we needed certain people,” he said while claiming he had done “events all my life, huge events.”

Sefcik – who is an MMA fighter and a Maryland governor hopeful – then dodged the question of how many people will attend his rally ahead of additional truck convoys expected to arrive in the city later this week.

“Brother, all I can say is that we both know this has been seen by a lot of people in the United States, and I’m not talking numbers, but let’s just say I know people will be there,” he said. “Let’s just say that I know there will be people there,” he added while proudly saying that his event was making Washington authorities nervous.

“I’ve never had to work so hard on a permit before,” he continued. “No, I’m serious, man. I’ve spent about 20 hours over the past two weeks having meetings with them [The National Park Service] and all types of government agencies because I was number one on their list.
