MANILA, Philippines – “Dahil kilala na kita, handa na akong makilala ka pa.”
So goes “Singapore Sling (Dahil Kilala na Kita)”, a song co-written by Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon.
The song was one of the songs Karylle and Yael paraded on at their wedding on Friday March 21 in Silang, Cavite.

The song, which is part of the group’s recent album “Ultrablessed”, also serves as the music for Yael and Karylle’s wedding video, which was uploaded to Sponge Cola’s official Youtube page on Sunday, March 23.
Wedding music shows the highlights of their nuptials – from the wedding preparations to the wedding ceremony at the Church of San Antonio de Padua in Cavite to the reception at the Angelfields Natural Sanctuary in Tagaytay.
Wedding guests such as the co-hosts of Karylle’s “It’s Showtime” and members of Yael’s Sponge Cola group, among other celebrities, can also be seen in the video.

In a previous interview with STAR entertainment editor Ricky Lo before the wedding, Yael explained why the song “Singapore Sling” is memorable to them.
“The chorus is very self-explanatory. It’s the process of getting to know someone, a process that never ends. I wrote it when Kaye and I were in Singapore last year. We love Singapore because that Kaye lived there for four months when she did Kitchen Musical (with Christian Bautista, in 2011). While she was there, I visited her every three or four weeks kasi libre ang flight ko “, a Yael said in the interview.
